How Might We
Define How Might We statement;
Insight;
- Create a way to connect new students (domestic and international) with each other?
- Help to find more common ground of shared interests/hobbies between international students and local students.
Insight;
- New students want to make friends they are afraid. In actual fact, the locals are interested in getting to know new comers, but are not sure how to approach.
- People in the same building might be going through the exact same struggles.
Hunch (I believe that);
- I believe that students find it hard to make friends and be comfortable when they move to a new place to start university or come on an exchange.
- I believe that the reason that new students can't make friends easily because the only places they meet new people in are classes when there isn't much socialising and people are already in their groups of friends.
- I believe that new students need a way of socialising with new people.
- A few cards plus the rules for a test game of cards.
- The sort of replies to the questions so I can tailor them to produce good friendly answers.
- How people respond to the format of game.
Results;
- Less political.
- More funny.
- More relatable.
End result;
- I will create a card game that releases a few different cards to new students so that they have to combine them with new people to play the game in full.
- There also will be competitions run by the university that ask for students to send in a photo of a group playing the game every week to be in the draw to win a share of grocery vouchers or alcohol.
- Along side the competition, there will be a monthly game night at the university where people can turn up and get put in random teams which play and the winners win prizes.
